Antique shop or junk shop?

She Who Must be Obeyed and I were wondering around a large junk shop in Norwich a few weeks ago, when I found this!


Note - the screws set into the sides are for changing the motor brushes.
 



It's a 1930's HMV hairdrier made from REAL Bakelite! You can just see the asking price on the label, £8, really just pocket change. Apart from the modern (and knackered) power lead, It's all complete and would certainly work if you had the nerve to actually connect it to mains voltage, not what I had in mind...

I really like the design of the body and the switch gear, and have decided to re purpose it into a wall lamp.
